I don’t hate this anime, if anything it was different from the usual ecchi harem daing sim anime.  So it was refreshing to see something else.  Still, it’s hard to describe this anime, and even more puzzling as to why I keep laughing despite there is no comedy in this anime.

First of all I have no trouble with excessive crotches and boobie shots.  I watch all kind of ecchi anime so this is nothing new.  What’s news is the scream.  The sound of torture like this only exist in bondage hentai and I don’t particular fond of those type play where you hurt the female.  So it’s bit hard to watch at these submissive hold where the girl screaming like she’s dying.  I usually just move the video away and surf the web during these time.  And no, I do not get off hearing girls in pain.

The wrestling match itself is not that bad.  They have some legit moves and the fight was going back and forth to keep you entertained.  However, it doesn’t do a good job of exaggerating the fight.  You see it all the time in sport anime.  Cool video effect, magical touch, or unreal stuff that will blow your mind.  There is none of that.  The moves are just your plain wrestling moves, no fx, and bad animation didn’t help either.

Not only animation is not fluid, the soundtrack is cheesy, old, and just lame. Sometime the anime even goes silent.  The whole thing felt like under budget anime.

Now, the reason why I laugh a lot is because those failed cliche plot and story.

First, it’s just hilarious for an idol to become pro wrestler just because she got insulted. Second, it badly copies the plot from Hajime no Ippo where the fighter have so much fighting spirit that she would never give up.  And third, a kohai in middle season came to join the gym because her admiration of our main heroine.  The plot is just too similar.

But after all that hype about her talents and fighting spirits, what do you think happen to her in the ring? She went on to lose 50 matches in a roll by BOSTON CRAB HOLD??!!  Seriously? WTFLOL? First match: BOSTON CRAB, I give up… Second match: BOSTON CRAB… Third match.. BOSTON… BOSTON ONE LEG CRAP.. I mean CRAB.

BOSTON MOTHER FKER CRAB!!!  ITTAII!!  I FKING GIVE UP!!!

So much fail, so much that it becomes hilarious.

It was easy to laugh off and watch on.  It’s like watching stupid people on youtube.  And what’s why I think that’s the reason why I can watch these without any frustration.  I actually watch it all in two days.

More on the plot.  It also has idol voting system like AKB48.  Same culture.  I’ve seen it before so it didn’t impress me.  I so like the fact that Elena make a surprise plot-twist at the end though.  It’s kinda stupid but yet fun to see it happens.

So erm, where the high level match between champions? How about tag team? The end plot turns out to be even more cheesy and stupid.  I can see the author just laughing his ass off thinking, “I can’t believe this vanilla shit sells, LOLWTFBBQ”.

The casts are below average.  I feel like they left a lot of stuff out of this anime.  There should be more grudge match, rival match, or more time between fighters in the gym.  We didn’t really see any personality.  And is it just me or everyone look the same to me.  Same hair style among the main cast.

Yes, the anime fails.  But, I was laughing and it was refreshing to see something new.  I even enjoy some wrestling part, maybe for an ep or two.  All I can say is as long as the anime doesn’t frustrate me or put me to sleep, time is well spent.

EDIT: In special eps on blu-ray, you get to see tag team between Misaki and Sakura.  And a different type of ecchi wrestling like mud wrestling, lotion, etc..

Porn anime that tried to be something else.  The porn part is pretty good, but the something else, in this case, sis-con/bro-con is just another Orimo’s wanabe.

– Ok listen to this, the plot is about filling up the heart gauge on a risqué underwear(T.S.T) by having girls doing ecchi things.  Hiyori, the slutty ghost, is the main perpetrator who possess Mitsuki to do sexy act with her brother, Yuuya.  The more they do ecchi thing with him, the more juices fill up.  The plot is to get the gauge completely filled so that Hiyori can go to heaven.  It’s pretty much a hentai’s plot taking a page out of some doujinshi.

– These ecchi scenes are pretty erotic and arousing.  There are lots of fetish including: yuri sex, delusional fantasy, pantsu peeking, physical sexual innuendo, urinating, moaning, panting, blushing, anything except real sex.  The animation is also good and fluid.  Although there is no nipple.

– Aside from ecchi, the overall feel of “Recently, My Sister Is Unusual” is to try to be as real as possible.  What I mean is that main characters act like as if this is real life.  The ghost, the chastity belt, the sexual urge are very real to them, and they’re seriously worring about them.  Mitsuki’s brother is so worry about his sister’s strange behavior, he looks up online thinking his sister got a Dissociative Identity Disorder.  FACEPALM.  Mitsuki is also thinking a lot about her relationship with Yuuya. It feels more like a serious romance than an ecchi show.  The thing is I just can’t take these ridiculous sex act as ‘serious’ therefore I’m not feeling any ‘serious’ at all.  What I got is boredom when I watch these ‘serious’ scenes.

– Usually ecchi anime is always try have a lot of comedy, but since this one has some serious mood, the comedy is right next to serious scene which is not a good directing imo.  As for the comedy, you got the normal ecchi cliché jokes like pantsu, boob in your face, going commando, flipping skirt, etc.  But in this anime you also got the next level of jokes like holding urinating or choking first aid that looks like sex. I find cliché and predictable jokes to be boring as hell, but I laugh a bit at weird ecchi jokes especially in early ep when they are really going at it.

– Not many romcom scenes, needing Yukina, the rival to chime in ASAP.  Right now she’s just acting as friendly childhood character.  This also mean the real romance is not even started yet.

– The dialogs are simply no good.  All normal and uninspired script.  This is actually one of major cons.

– Imouto stuff is the same as other Imouto’s clone.  Starting with unhappy imouto, then gradually open up and enter romcom phase.  Saying baka, and bitch slap.  Doesn’t feel special at all, bad execution I guess.

– What I like the most is when Hiyori switches body and does ridiculously lewd or lecherous act(which she didn’t do enough in the second half of the show).  To me, Hiyori aka the sex machine is the only one who keeps the wheel rolling.  Without her, it’s a very boring real life imouto anime.

– All chars are no good.  Hiyori is probably the only interesting and fun one.  But she is such a selfish whore, I can’t bring myself to like her.  And don’t even ask about Mitsuki, she’s big joy-kill imouto.  She probably needs another season to be tamed.

– Pacing is slow, dragging on whatever they are doing.  Not many things happen in an ep.  And some ep is just flats out boring like when they’re trying out HS clubs.

– And what the hell is that fake ending, what a troll to have an end without finishing any plot.  Then to come back and says there’s more LEVELS to be clear? double trolls SMH

Same stuff.  Start off very predictable but have some twist that’s not funny.  And then do the usual delusional fantasy, prompting a scowl from Mitsuki.  Yuuya is thinking about his sister well-being again.  What a boring dude.  Then the serious family issue comes up, apparently, mom couldn’t come home for Christmas ;-;.  Mitsuki’s crying.  I THINK YOU SHOULD WORRY MORE ABOUT THAT SLUT GHOST THAN YA MAMA! and of course, Hiyori doesn’t give a shet.  She immediately possess Mitsuki and start begging Yuuya for xmas gift.  And as we all know, Christmas’s gift in an ecchi show means some kind of dirty sexual thing.  You guess it, a blowjob.  The mood shift between crying and blowing is about 30 sec. Then lameass comedy about Yuuya can’t sing happens just before sucking, GG.  I only like ecchi part.

– Bald joke is not funny.  Just look at the above picture, the guy is not losing any hair at all. So STOP SAYING IT!

Ugh goddamn it, I really like Myuri.  She’s cute, loyal, and her voice is so moe.  So why? Why do they need to do that ridiculous facade about heroes again.  It’s not funny then and it’s not funny now.  And oh, this whole ep is a pure fan service with every cast member.

– Can you freaking believe they have naked loli with nipple?  I’m serious, you can clearly see her naked top half uncensored!  That’s crossing the line right there.  Even other loli anime like Kodomo no Jikan never have naked under aged character with nipple, it’s downright illegal.

– Anyway, the ova is just like the tv series.  Ecchi fan service with fantasy role-playing stuff like sword fighting(then get naked), monster fight(tentacle), rescue girl(also get naked) and other ridiculous stuff that end in a clothes tearing scenes.  Boring.

– Finally, I get to see character’s backdrop story.  Raul came from the rural village that didn’t know any better.  That story is fitting, considering how he wants to be a hero so bad.  The problem is… those villagers should have at least know that demon’s king is defeated and the hero system is over. Right?  No?  I wish they would show this fantasy world more so I can understand it better.

– The LN ends a few month back, so this is it.

“You’re going to become a great magic shop employee, right?!!”, says the hero who is trying to bring back demon king’s daughter, “REMEMBER THE  RED FRIDGE ORDER!!!, your customer is waiting for you!!!”  *Boobs start jiggling in circular motion breaking free from demon’s shackle*  I’m FREE!! YATTA!!! *Boing* YATTA!! *Boing*

Ok, let’s be real, this series is pure ecchi harem comedy, and it had nothing to do with demon, heroes, or any fantasy related stuff.

– The heroes vs demon premise is the one I want to watch.  But that dream was shattered when I saw Sarah battling with demon using appliances like hair dryer, boombox, and MAGIC RICE COOKER!  It was then that I realized the story is a complete joke.  The whole dungeons and demons is a shame to fool citizen(and me) so they can sell weapons(and this anime).  It’s all capitalism.  Kinda irony and funny.. or maybe not.

– So after crossing out the last plot as one big joke, all I got is ecchi comedy harem from the first 9 eps.  And to be honest,  it was decent.

– The ecchi part is pretty well done, maybe a little too excessive at times with all the boob jiggling and skirt flipping.  But the animation is smooth and boob bounces real well like a jello O_O  It’s pretty much your cliche ecchi fantasy stuff including tentacle, blob monster, boobs in your face, ok the last one is not fantasy.  And although I found ecchi to be distracting at times, it’s no longer a con because I now know that Yuushibu is 100% ecchi show.  Same thing with blooming fx effect on girl’s skin, so damn bright.

– The comedy is a hit or miss, especially with Fino.  Her clueless jokes are not always funny.  I’d say it’s 50/50.  Sometime the joke is too cliché and predictable.  Also, the comedy with customer is not always funny.  Overall, they didn’t do a solid job on making normal stuff interesting.  Their dialogs and reactions are not always amusing.  It’s not bad, but not great either.

– Other characters except Fino are useless.  Only Airi and Elsa are not crappy stereo-types, and they provide a much need romcom with Raul.  Just a note, Airi’s voice actress is too amateur to be in a harem show 😦  Moreover, they kinda skip Airi’s arc, so sad.  As for Elsa, she didn’t make much progress on Raul, making Fino the only decent character here.  Sadly, I’m not one of her fan.  Her demon laugh is not amusing to me, and her romance with Raul is forced and boring.  That date ep is too cliché.  And what happen to her shyness? She gets naked faster than you can finish saying the title.  Overall these girls are providing a nice eye candy; I really like Airi’s blond twintails looks and her fashion style.

– Normal appliance/convenient store work is not that interesting, ex: claim repair, mob floor, bag items, double booking.  These are mundane tasks that are boring even when demon do it, and I think they take it way too seriously.  For example the plot to Fino’s rescue arc is about customer’s greetings? The Eight Phases? SMH  Same thing with appliance’s store war.  Big box vs. small shop? Demon’s sweat shop? Price war? LOL So much for being a fantasy anime.  Also, these appliance stores are so damn boring, why won’t they sell games?  Where’s PSP?  Computer? Beats Headphone? Seriously, I have more fun shopping at Best buy!

– However, I do like when they use magic sigma to defeat monster, saving the house from energy-eating monster(roll eyes).  The ep also ends in a nice karma moment, I love it.  If only they do more magic stuff.

– The fight with demons is too cliché.. why use sword at all? USE MAGIC RICE COOKER!.  The idol bullshit to promote store is also zzz, though, their song is ok.  The plot saying hero is out of work is a flat-out lie.  These guys are just failure.

Sotsugyousei is a special ova for the Doukyuusei 2 series/game.  It like an all-star remix where all the main heroine appear and giving their best fan services pitch.  And what’s more, they get to know other heroines and even become good friend like Yui and Karen in the picture.  It seems that the girls don’t know that they are dating the same the guy which is kinda weird.  Still, all the girls are still in love and always in lovely dopey mode which is good thing, because a girl in love is a thing of beauty.

– I love these all girls remix, no more stupid cheap melodrama romances just to get to sex.  This time we get to have fun with the girls!  They go shopping, swimming, hot spring, you know all the fan-service eps.  It’s cute and filled with ecchi pantsu shots.

– ❤ Yui!! She is really fun to watch. And in this ova, she manages to get every girls LOL.  I think she was having a semi harem of her own!  and everybody love to be around her. I really like her better when she is having fun with friends, because when she is headed over heel with the guy, she turns into sex craving bitch which is really lame.  Imouto character are more fun when she acts as loving and caring sister.

– Ughh they had to do that melodrama crap about the new couple.  It’s not too bad thou, they keep it short and use it mostly to give us the basic ecchi element, you know, when girls get embarrassed because guy accidentally saw them naked.

– Almost too many pantsu shots.  But since this is a fan service ova, I can’t really complain.  And I like the fact that they didn’t do sex scenes.  Sex = serious.  Ecchi = Comedy.

– It’s too bad that you need to watch the Doukyuusei 2 to know each girls’ history, because this one could stand on its own being an ecchi comedy ova.
